I’m a big fan of cabbage juice because I personally suffered from an ulcer and one of the veggies I used to help my ulcer is – you guessed it, cabbage. Even now, I juice this stuff religiously.
So does drinking cabbage juice for ulcers work? Yes – and it’s not just personal anecdote that makes me say that. You see, raw cabbage is naturally rich in Vitamin U. This vitamin, commonly referred to as ‘cabbagen’, strengthens your stomach lining and help make it resistant to ulcers.
It’s also a great bowel cleanser, detoxifies your colon and helps cure any already-present acute ulcers in your digestive tract. In addition, the amino acid Glutamine assists in the growth and regeneration of the cells that form the lining of the digestive tract while cabbage’s sulfur and chlorine content help combat inflammation in the colon and large intestine.

One of the best beauty benefits of cabbage juice is its immune-boosting prowess – after all, what’s sexier than vibrant, radiant health?
The phytochemicals in cabbage stimulate and strengthen the immune system, helping to protect you from a wide array of illnesses, including cancer. You see, cabbage contains a compound called “sulforaphane” that acts as an anti-carcinogen. It’s also a very good source of a glucosinolate called sinigrin that’s proved promising in cancer prevention research, as it can be converted into allyl-isothiocyanate (AITC), which has demonstrated unique preventative qualities for bladder, colon, and prostate cancers.
Just keep in mind that raw cabbage and very short-cooked cabbage were the only ones to show cancer-preventative benefits since long cooking times (and microwave cooking) destroys the helpful enzymes that help convert the cabbage’s glucosinolates into cancer-preventive compounds.
