    Richmond College Galle

    This school was the oldest. It was established in Eighteen Fourteen on twenty fifty July. The founder of the school was Reverend George Bough who was from Methodist church in Great Britain. Today the school admits around five thousand young boys in Galle.

    Matara Janadipathi Vidyalaya

    This is the second English school in Sri Lanka. The school was then known as Matara Methodist School. This was established on Eighth August Eighteen Fourteen. This is a mixed school that caters to more than two thousand five hundred students in Matara.

    Methodist Central College

    This school is located in Batticaloa. The school was established on Twenty-Ninth July in Eighteen Fourteen. Sir. William Ault is the founder of the school. It is a boys’ school that caters to around one thousand seven hundred students in the area. It is also a public provincial school in Sri Lanka.

    Newstead Girls College

    This is the oldest girlsschool in Sri Lanka. Reverend Robert Newstead started in Thirty First July Eighteen Sixteen. This belongs to the Wesleyan missionary. Today the school caters around three thousand five hundred girls who live around Negambo under the principal Ms Gayani Herath.

    Union College, Tellippalai

    It is now a provincial school located in Jaffna. The school is one of the schools initiated by the American Ceylon Mission in Ninth December Eighteen Sixteen. It is a mixed school and accepts children under the age of five to eighteen. It has nearly a thousand student admissions. The founders of this school are Reverend Daniel Poor and Reverend Edward Warren.

    Jaffna Central College

    Reverend James Lynch and Reverend Thomas Squance started this school on Sixth July Eighteen Sixteen. It belongs to the Methodist church. The main two mediums are Tamil and English. And it enrols more than two thousand young boys in Jaffna.

    Christ Church Boys’ School

    The school started on Nineteenth March Eighteen Nineteen. And the pioneer to establish the school is Hon Reverend Robert Mayor who belonged to the Church Mission Society of the Anglican Church. It educates around three thousand young gentlemen who live in Beddegama. Today it is a national school that the Sri Lankan government is controlling.

    Methodist Girls’ College, Trincomalee

    They established this school in Eighteen Nineteen in Trincomalee. Currently, it is a provincial school that provides education to the young ladies in Trincomalee. The Wesleyan Methodist mission established this school.

    Reverend William Ault was a Wesleyan Methodist missionary who established this school. Today, it is a public national school catering to more than three thousand girls who live in Batticaloa. The main media of teaching is English and Tamil.

    The Church Mission Society of the Anglican Church established this school on thirteenth July in Eighteen Twenty-Two. It was Christian College at the beginning. Today it is a public school that caters for the boys who live in Kotte.
